Brandon, Florida

Brandon is located approximately 12 miles East of downtown Tampa. Founded in 1857 by John Brandon. He located here from Mississippi and purchased 40 acres of vacant land . It was initially called New Hope, but was renamed later in his honor.  It is an unincorporated community in Hillsborough County, Florida. The census in 2023 showed a population of 116,365 and still growing. It offers a diverse selection of housing, medical facilities, schools, parks, grocery stores, hotels, restaurants, places of religion, employment opportunities and shopping. Convenient location for commuting to Tampa to the West, Plant City, Lakeland and Orlando to the East and Sarasota and Bradenton to the South. World famous, Tampa International Airport is located 23 miles away with access to major airlines and most travel locations. Just North of Brandon, I75 intersects with I4 for road destinations in all directions. The toll road, Leroy Selmon Expressway, is the quickest way to reach Tampa and St Petersburg from Brandon. The climate in Brandon is humid, subtropical that is typical for central Florida. This area experiences milder winters, and hot, sunny summers.  We do have some freezing weather in the winter that usually only lasts for day or two. The area also receives a significant amount of rainfall during the summer months due to afternoon thunderstorms. Wide choices of homes in price and size make Brandon appealing to buyers and/or tenants of all ages. Nearby attractions include  The Florida Aquarium, Busch Gardens, The manatee viewing center, Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, Florida State Fairgrounds, The Straz Center, Tampa Theatre is 100 years old and still shows movies and live performances, Lowry Park Zoo, Ice Sports Forum where the Lightning practice, Dinosaur World, Disney World is about one hour East.
